Biography
A native of former Yugoslavia, now Serbia, Emina Karamanovski completed medical school at the University of Belgrade. In 1991, she moved to Canada and then later to the United States. Dealing with loneliness and insecurity while adapting to her new homes and nostalgia for her family and friends, Emina was emotionally hurting but nothing learned in medical school was helping to ease her mind and soothe her heart. As she was making her way through emotional challenges, Emina discovered that although we are a highly knowledgeable society, in the area of emotions, we are unskilled and unprepared.
Recognizing the importance of emotions, Emina Karamanovski studied numerous methods that address positive thinking or emotion management, personally testing each one of them. Influenced primarily by Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy, Milton H. Erickson’s hypnotherapy, and ground-breaking research in the domain of heart science (Neurocardiology and HeartMath), she developed her own unique approach to strengthening emotional intelligence. Her approach is innovative: emotions are our allies. Emotions alert us to pay attention and to make conscious decisions.
Her education and interests are broad. In addition to a medical degree, Karamanovski has earned a Coaching Certification from HeartMath, and a Diplomate in Logotherapy credential from the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy., after which, Excellence Quest and Richard Bandler licensed her as a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Having completed the Certified Coach Intensive Program by CoachVille, Karamanovski is currently in the process of obtaining a Professional Coach Certified license (PCC) from the International Coach Federation.
Since starting her private practice as a coach in 2000, Emina Karamanovski has been helping adults and children transform their challenges and traumas into clarity and empowerment. Emina currently shares her residency between Toronto, Canada and Dallas, Texas.
