frankl_19941.jpgVIKTOR FRANKL, MD (1905-1997)    Internationally renowned psychiatrist, Dr. Frankl endured years of unspeakable horrors in Nazi death camps. During, and partly because of his suffering, Dr. Frankl developed a revolutionary approach to psychotherapy known as LOGOTHERAPY. The term is a derivate of the Greek word logos which denotes “meaning.” Logotherapy focuses on meaning of human existence as well as man’s search for such a meaning. Logotherapy is the only spirit centered approach to understanding human beings, their strengths and struggles. According to Dr. Frankl, striving to find a meaning in one’s life is the primary motivational force in man. At the core of his theory is the belief that life holds meaning under any circumstances (regardless how purposeless they may seem).Logotherapy, as all other approaches that inspired me, focuses on the future (rather than dwelling in the past).
